Playground Training is for people who:

  1. Don’t “do” gyms
  2. Have tried the “one size fits all” programs (with no success)
  3. Want to train in a beautiful space/alone/in a small group
  4. Want to train with their bubbas close by
  5. Have an injury or are recovering from surgery
  6. Want to feel good in their own skin

Now located at the gorgeous Hackett shops, at Playground Training we create programs specifically tailored for you.  We work closely with you and your care providers to take the time to find out what you want and work TOGETHER to achieve it!

Training Options

The first step in creating a successful program is to identify what sort of training works for you… circuit style session, small group class, one on one to aid in recovery from an injury, or maybe you’re a postnatal mum that just wants a workout with bub in tow?

You can try them all with Playground Training, but places are limited!

Small Group Training: `

Group sessions are capped at eight (8) participants per session. Bookings are essential.

Casual/one session per week available.

Small group session times:

Monday 5:45pm (45 mins)

Tuesday 11:30am (30 mins) LOW IMPACT – Suitable for pregnancy

Kangatraining

Kangatraining – a safe, low impact exercise for postnatal mums and it’s unique because it allows mother and baby to exercise TOGETHER. 

Kangatraining is a complete workout for mums, you’ll get a sweat up, but unlike traditional classes, new mums don’t need to worry about finding a care for their little ones as they carry their babies on them while they are working out. 

This effective program was designed for postnatal mothers, incorporating just the right amount of cardio and strength training for a return to exercise…  It concentrates on safely re-strengthening the abdominal area and pelvic floor muscles all the while protecting those tight areas (wrists, shoulders, necks) that can develop from daily life with a baby. Extra bonus… you burn some calories while doing it!

There are so many benefits associated with Kangatraining:

  • Promotes a closer bond between mother and baby 
  • Provides an opportunity for social interaction and meeting new friends. No need to leave your baby in care, your baby is a part of the experience
  • Assists with the release of endorphins from exercising helping alleviate postnatal depression, anxiety, sleep deprivation and generally making for a happier healthier mumma!
  • Gives mumma some time out to do something for her baby, herself, her body. 
  • Offers baby wearing education from a qualified Kangatrainer, helping new mothers learn how to safely and correctly carry their baby.

  • Love Kanga with Alicia. She caters to all abilities and choreographs the best dances (and also does theme based classes - my fave so far was Michael Jackson week). Alicia's energy and enthusiasm is contagious, she goes out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable, encourages us to challenge ourselves and work as hard as we need to and provides an environment of pure fun; I sometimes forget that I'm actually exercising!   • I absolutely love kanga training with Alicia, it's such a fun way to get back into exercise post birth. I enjoyed it so much with my first bub, that when I had my second bub, I couldn't wait to get back into it! Both my bubs have loved exercising with me in the carrier, and mostly fall asleep by the end of the class. The routines give you a great work out, but you still feel safe as they are non-impact and aimed at​ strengthening your post-birth body. Alicia is so welcoming and so knowledgeable with what exercises to encourage/avoid for new mums, and she's flexible when you need to feed/settle your bub. Can't recommend this class enough!!
